Co-ord

 My Handmade Co-ord!

Co-ords are so in right now... so I decided to jump on the band wagon! I found more of the aztec material I used to make my skirt using New Look 6053 pattern (see my earlier post for more details on that one) and made a top to match! I've seen a lot of co-ords are made up of a loose top and shorts and I wanted something a bit different, so I chose a more fitted style. I used the top part of New Look pattern 6262 to make a fitted top with a zip down the back.

The photos are from Wireless festival in Birmingham - such a fun day! Foxes was AMAZING, definitely my favourites of the day. Caught festival fever though, I'm desperate to go to another one!

Simplicity 1699

My New White Jacket

I've wanted a white jacket for ages now - so I used this Simplicity to make myself one! I love it! It's lined and understitched and was pretty easy to make. There are only three pattern pieces and the most tricky part is creating the pleats for the sleeves. The pattern tells you to use braid down the front and for pockets and I did buy some intending to do this, but I really like the crisp, elegant look the jacket has without it, so I'm keeping that for a future project.

I'm now working on the dress in this pattern, stay tuned for my next post on that one!
(With more and better photos!)
