New Look Pattern 6053 Again

Another Skirt Using This Pattern!

My Progress

The Skirt On

I love this pattern so much I used it again! The more times you use a pattern the better value it is, and this skirt was definitely brilliant value! Particularly because the material I used was the end of a roll and therefore reduced; £2.92 for 0.85 metres.
Definitely saving by sewing.

I love the fit and the aztec print of the material, which is similar to skirt I've seen in high street shops.

New Look Pattern 6262

I loved this pattern so much I made two dresses using it, one straight after the other!
I used these pretty fabrics and the dresses and their progress are below.

Dress One

Dress Two

These dresses are a great fit, although that was quite lucky actually as the measurements for it are quite small! Definitely something to watch out for.

The first fabric is a Liberty fabric so of course it feels lovely and drapes brilliantly. The second is a viscose fabric and it's just so soft! I've actually had this one for ages because I couldn't quite pick a pattern nice enough to cut it up for!

This pattern is easy to use like so many of the New Look patterns. The most tricky part is making sure the gathered waist is distributed evenly. You also have to ease the arms in, or you can choose to go for binding and leave out the arms instead.

I'll definitely be using this one again! Next time I might try the sleeveless v-neck option to make it a bit different.

New Look Pattern 6095

New Look 6095

Finally finished! So this is the first of my projects... which took ages because my sewing machine broke when I was halfway through! I couldn't believe it! But I am now the proud owner of a shiny new Singer Talent 3323 sewing machine, an amazing early birthday present from my lovely boyfriend.

I love the shape of this shift dress and will definitely be making it again. I chose pastel powder-blue material because firstly I love this colour and secondly it's very in right now.

This was an easy make, like it says on the front of the pattern. The only really tricky part is inserting the arms properly. You have to ease them in to join them properly and smoothly.

I bought this sweet little white bag from Accessorize at the weekend and love how well it goes with the dress.

Here's my progress in photos...
